Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Course Description
This course is widely applicable to organisations which manufacture products, or deliver services. It is also particularly relevant to ISO/TS 16949 and six sigma programmes.

Typically 1 day.
Target Audience
Multi-disciplinary: Managers, process owners, engineers and other personnel who are involved in processing, or contribute to the advanced product quality planning process.

Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
Course Description
This course is applicable in companies which use measurements and gauges, and has particular relevance to ISO/TS 16949 and six sigma initiatives. The reliability of measurements is an important consideration in any situation where the measurements are used for decision-making purposes.
Duration/Delivery Mode
Typically 2 to 3 days.
Target Audience
Managers, engineers and technicians, who are involved in selecting and maintaining measurement systems. To fully appreciate this course, an understanding of basic statistical principles is desirable; hence, it is recommended that participants have attended the Foundation Level SPC Course.

Statistical Process Control (SPC) - Awareness Level
Course Description
This course provides an easy to follow introduction to the key principles of process control and capability. The objectives are:
1. To enable personnel with little or no prior knowledge of statistical methods to understand how these methods can support the
management and improvement of business processes.2. How SPC can help with understanding the sources of variation which affect a process.
3. To familiarise personnel with the terminology used in an SPC context to enable them to communicate with others.

Managers, supervisors, shift/team/section leaders, process personnel, buyers, marketing/sales personnel, etc.

Statistical Process Control (SPC) - Foundation Level
Course Description
This course illustrates the benefits of monitoring a process in real time for problem solving, improvement and ongoing management. The course is applicable to a wide range of business process situations where data is used to understand the performance of both manufacturing and non-manufacturing processes.

Typically 2 days.
Target Audience
Quality technicians, continual improvement practitioners, SPC facilitators, data analysts, laboratory personnel, engineers and team leaders who are involved in setting-up and interpreting control charts and computing capability indices. Also, those personnel who need to understand the principles and terminology in order to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and other personnel.

Minitab® software is synonymous with data analysis, quality and continual improvement. For the benefit of those participants with an interest in Minitab®, relevant use of this package is demonstrated during the selected course. Course participants are welcome to bring a laptop computer preloaded with Minitab® software and to follow through the examples presented during the course, many of which are 'real world' data sets. Participants who currently do not have access to Minitab® may wish to download a free 30-day trial version from www.minitab.co.uk and use this during the course.Please note that Icanthus Limited does not supply software.
