Often , these methods are associated with the automotive industry and six sigma programmes; however, in practice these methods are applied to a diversity of business situations.

Structured Problem Solving (8D)

Course Description

This course helps participants to develop the skills and good practices which are appropriate for solving even simple problems, as well as those problems which are more challenging. Our open market course includes a set of course notes, a course certificate, lunch and refreshments.

MSA

Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)

Course Description

This course is applicable to organisations which use measurements and gauges, and has particular relevance to ISO/TS 16949 and six sigma initiatives. The reliability of measurements is an important consideration in any situation where the measurements are used for decision-making purposes.

Duration/Delivery Mode

Typically 2 days.

Target Audience

Managers, engineers and technicians, who are involved in selecting and maintaining measurement systems. To fully appreciate this course, an understanding of basic statistical principles is desirable; hence, it is recommended that participants have attended the Foundation Level SPC Course.

SPC Foundation

Statistical Process Control (SPC) – Foundation Level

Course Description

This course illustrates the benefits of monitoring a process in real time for problem solving, improvement and ongoing management. The course is applicable to a wide range of business process situations where data is used to understand the performance of both manufacturing and non-manufacturing processes.

Use of Minitab® Software

Course Description

Minitab® software is synonymous with data analysis, quality and continual improvement. For the benefit of those participants with an interest in Minitab®, relevant use of this package is demonstrated during the selected course. Course participants are welcome to bring a laptop computer preloaded with Minitab® software and to follow through the examples presented during the course, many of which are ‘real world’ data sets. Participants who currently do not have access to Minitab® may wish to download a free 30-day trial version from www.minitab.co.uk and use this during the course.Please note that Icanthus Limited does not supply software.
